4.4 tdV8 faults

Are these faults anything to worry about?
They remained when I cleared the Adaptive Dynamic Fault ?

And a question that will show I don’t know much about the iid, how do I change it from km to miles?

Cheers

Thanks Stan but I meant the km reading on the iid.
Can the iid display miles on Fault screen? G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

In the IID Control App, click the cog at the bottom which opens the settings, then click unit conversions and you can change all the parameters in there. Chris

Hi Mike
I've just bought a 4.4 like yours same model and year etc. Had it a month and then a warning triangle saying reduced performance followed by limp mode. Seems intermittent. I bought an IId tool and have the same P040D egr temp sensor a circuit high temp come up. Did you ever get to the bottom of that one as I'm wondering if this the source of my reduced performance warning.

Andy,
Sorry but the snow in January put me off sorting the fault codes, but I have done 1k miles since I repaired the adaptive dynamic suspension fault in December and it has run perfectly.
I read a post recently asking about the same Fault code.
As for your reduced performance alarm,; have you read my 4.4tdV8 Fault log post?

First check I would make would be to inspect the 4 short rubber hoses connecting the plenum chamber to the inlet manifolds.

The original hoses are very soft rubber and tend to split but the replacements are much tougher and easy to fit.

Plenty of members to offer help on here.

Cheers

Andy,
Also several members have reported splits in the seams of the plastic plenum, which gives the same symptoms.

Dealers use a smoke test to check for splits and hairline crack leaks.

Does it trip into limp mode when you reach 2,500rpm. ?
If so it will be the CSOV valve sticking.

I am having the restricted performance on occasion too.

Fault codes as attached here. I believed it was caused by the water in the fuel system as it only comes on after the engine is warmed up, turned off then on. If I then stop the car and restart it then goes away for a while too.

Pointers very welcomed!! Help !

do you get 'water in fuel' come up on the tft dash, if so replace the fuel filter or try and drain the water from it.... ... - .- -.

Hi Stan,

It never comes up on the dash about water in the fuel etc, only 'Restricted Performance'. It has had a new fuel filter and housing though to try and resolve it.
