Adle Heating System

Anyone with a tintent that has the Alde heating system

Mine is making a noise, it sounds like the pump is catching on the bottom of the header tank.

The noise goes away once the fluid has warmed up.

Ive checked the level in the tank, its all correct. Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty, nothing else matters.

Probably a daft question, but has it always done it, or just started?
My last van had Alde hearing, and it was always noisey from new. The van I've got now has Trauma heating, and it's a lot quieter.
All I remember was that the fluid needs changing in the Alde every 5 years, I think !!

Agreed, try and bleed the towel rail to see if you have air in the system.

If you have a pump in the header tank then it can foul parts of the tank, try loosening the cap and tightening with the pump part in a slightly different rotation.

I have heard of people fitting two rubber washers to lift the pump slightly.

The fluid in British vans only has a life of two years and should be replaced by five year fluid G13 spec.

Dealers are charging between £200 to £250 to change Alde £160 but you have to take the van to them.

I just bought 5litres of G13 for £14.99 and £10 for a manual pump to change my own.

Thanks everyone

The van is a 2016 so not old enough for fluid change, ive even sent the pump back to alde who say its working correctly

Tried the cap idea with no joy, but haven't tried two seals.

Its going in next week for warranty work so ill see what they say Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty, nothing else matters.

Wiggle it. The base of the pump can often move and foul it's surroundings. When I had mine I used to pull it up a little and hold it until it settled. Was always fine after a few mins and only happened in winter. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Yes, had this on ours. The pump can be moved in the rubber washer. Loosen the cap and lift the pump slightly whilst re-tightening the cap.
