United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV6 Loire Blue
New owner first Rangey

Hi FFRR people,

Decided to do it, and purchase a new Range Rover Vogue SE in Loire Blue and Ebony; don’t pick up the car for another week or so and already thinking about changing from the standard 21” wheels to the 22” diamond cut (707 style I think).
Would it be more cost effective to ask the dealer about the cost to upgrade before we get the car? It’s already built so too late to change without a considerable cost!

Also, does anyone have an idea on the cost ?

TIA

There's loads of 707's on ebay for 2-2.5k you should get at least 1k for your 21's - so it depends how much the dealer quotes you and whether you can be bothered

Be careful on eBay as there are copies on there, but also some reputable dealers.

Thanks for that, the dealer has just come back at £5K to upgrade!

Are they just a straight swap?

Mine were a factory fit - exactly £3k upgrade for the Diamond Turned Turbines from the std wheels. (That's £2.5k plus £500 VAT). Plus an extra £200 for the full size spare in the same style. The figures to me just don't seem to stack up...

£3k to upgrade 4 wheels from std alloys to 22" Turbines = £750 per wheel upgrade cost. Yet it's only £200 to upgrade the spare - somebody is obviously either p155ed or doing drugs to dream up those figures as they are totally illogical.

And Yes they are a straight swop. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Rolling with laughter Censored
Buy new 22s on ebay then sell yours the same way should be around £1000 when all done.

Personally I wouldn't bother. I had 22's on my first L405 and have had 21's on every one since. I'd never go back to 22's. The 21's look good and ride so much better than 22's, even if the 22's do look better. If you can't get the 22's out of your head buy a set of new take-offs and sell yours and the price won't be too eye watering that way. 2016 SDV8 Autobiography
And several others previously.

The other thing to consider is the cost of the tyres! The 21” tyres are pretty good VFM, the 22’s somewhat less so...

Coming from from an X5 40d m sport on 20” anything would be an improvement!

No rush, at a grand or so I will probably run summer and winter tyres!

Thanks all 👍

Summer & Winter 22's for me Thumbs Up

I got a bit carried away and have 2 sets of wheels Embarassed

However, I spent the winter in a ski resort - the road outside my apartment is fairly steep & covered in snow right now.....

I did a writeup of the regular Conti's vs winters - here

I also have 2 sets,

22" Turbines with Conti's on for the summer,
And a set of 20" Std alloys with 285/50/20 Cooper AT3 on for the Shooting Season and winter work.

I would just run 22" on AT's all year round but nobody makes them in a 285 or 275/40/22 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
