Try this from another source.
Unlock the car,
jump in,
press the accelerator to the floor so it presses down the kickdown and keep it down
key in the ignition
turn the ignition to stage 2 ( all the dash lights up )
DONT START IT ... just leave it there whilst you have the pedal to the floor
wait a while ( 30seconds or longer i think )
ignition off
key out
pedal up.
Go have a cup of tea while it sorts itself out and then go for drive
Or see here

Tried the process this morning, held the pedal down for approx 60 seconds then gave it 30 mins to sort itself, no difference so far.
I had the gearbox flushed last April time so would hope the Indy has carried out the other process on the link, I’ll give them a try anyway and report back!

It won't be a bespoke map for £350, it will be a generic map for that sort of money.

I would see if you can fit a different set of wheels and tyres with the correct original tyres on to make sure that the new tyres are the cause.

The wheels I bought had fairly worn scorpion zeros 255/50/20s on I then changed to the 255/55/20 General Grabbers at3
Both tyre sizes have the loss of mpg and hanging in gear......

Have you had anyone look at the car and see if any fault codes are stored etc...? You could be wasting your money with a remap if there is a different problem that a remap wont cure.

So, to be clear. The car came with standard tyres on and you changed them to 275/40's. Now you have 255/55's on.
When did you try the standard tyres on to notice it hanging in gears. Confused Me confused.

Hanging gears aside, how do you find the Grabber AT3 as I'm thinking about fitting them. Mainly concerned with wet grip. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

When I bought it it had the 275/40/20s on and done 28mpg according to the OBC, I then bought a set of new to me alloys (originals needed refurb) with the ‘standard’ 255/50/20 scorpion zeros on which I then changed to 255/55/20 AT3s (they don’t make a 255/50/20 AT3)
As for the tyres they’re great! Quite and comfy on the road and grippy in the mud, No issues for me in the wet/snow

I had to wait a few weeks for the AT3s so was on the 255/50s for a while which is when I noticed the differences, the 255/55s seem to make the hanging more noticeable

Ah, OK got it. So did you feel it was "hanging" on the standard size tyres as well. At what speed do you notice the "hanging" and is it just top gear or other gears too. I can't help thinking a gearbox reset may solve it. There is a big jump in rolling circumferance for the gearbox to adapt to. The easiest way is with a diagnostic tool. I can't see how an engine map would solve it. It uses engine rpm, engine load, road speed etc to select a gear. An engine and gearbox re-map would work or just a gearbox re-map. You also have your own mind to recalibrate too as the speedo is now reading 20% slower than with your original set up.
If it were mine, I'd do a gearbox reset and go from there. That way you would know what was needed. Keep us posted on developments and good luck. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Have you tried resetting the gearbox ECU. They learn driving habits so a reset on the new tyres maybe worth a try.

Jumping in ...

... how do you reset the gearbox ECU?

I have an IID tool - not used yet as only arrived yesterday - and have just switched to 22” wheels from 20”. What do I put here then?

Small Update-
Had some time Friday so thought I’d inspect the lower turbo hoses, only had time to do the drivers side, all looked well no splits cracks etc some oily muck on the inside of the hoses but didn’t seem bad to my eneducated eye, I did however notice that the hose and turbo ‘area’ appeared to be covered in oily gunk any ideas where this would be leaking from? Could it be related to my issues? I’m hoping to get the passengers side off in the morning to compare I’ve attempted to attach a photo of the gunk, the hose connection is the clean bit

Check all the hoses which would be under pressure, If the split is a small one, the oil will only be coming out when you're on boost. When i had a turbo hose go on my Jaguar, it was the Turbo to Inter-cooler hose, and it split on the engine side, so i couldn't see the split, only feel it when i put my hand round the back.

They will as you have slightly over geared it - the 55 profile are larger in diameter = increase in gearing 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
