I have an old key fob that has worn out and stopped working, the battery in the fob went flat. I changed the battery, still didn’t work so I tried re syncing it, nothing. I thought it could be the worn out buttons but I still got a red light when pressing them. I’ve bought a new pre cut key and transferred the transponder. It’s opens the car doors with the key and starts it no problem. I’ve tried syncing this one with no luck either. I’ve looked around and have a few ideas of the problem.
Maybe the car has too many keys previously synced ?
Could the rf receiver be faulty or water damaged ?
The car hasn’t been used much for a while so maybe not enough charge in it ?
I’d appreciate any help and advice with this problem before I have to pay out for a key reprogramming.
