That's the best solution Stan, but I have bought a few pair of these gripp gloves for people with arthrosis or arthritis and they are very handy with these kind of repairs.

Happy Christmas to all,

Taking out air box:

Time 20 min.
skill 1 to 10 = 3
tools: screwdriver.

unplug MAF sensor and remove wire from the box.

loosen two jubilee clips on the air pipe and remove, pull air box to the side and after it is clear of the rubber grommets pull up.

with box out it is easy to axes the nob on the full filter housing.

pictures tell the story :

Thumbs Up

It doesn't take a whole lot of time to disconnect the hoses and lift up the entire filter unit. Not much spillage either. 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway

A 5mm ID silicone tubing worked for me. Flexible and easy to wriggle on. The sensor connection is similar to the old spark plugs. Tape a stick to the other end of the tube and it goes down to the ground a treat. Place the outlet in glass jar standing in a tray, (guess why?). Cheers
