IID Tool Bluetooth ECU flash

I’ve recently bought the IID Tool and have to say it’s awesome.

Definitely saved me money and has helped sort a few “quirks” out.

I noticed that there is a Bluetooth flash available in the menu, but could someone tell me what the flash will solve/mend?

Will it fix having to re pair my phone every time I get back in the car?

I dont think the IID tool will sort that. Email Gap themselves as they are very helpful.
For your phone issue you need the firmware updating on the bluetooth module.

^^^^^ What Crispian said.

I had exactly this pairing problem on my MY06 TD6 - having to enter 2121 every time to re-pair the phone, no phone book and poor sound quality. Reflashing via the IID tool was very straightforward and solved all those problems.

From memory it took around 25 minutes but just make sure your battery is fully charged before you start the process.

Cheers, Mark

Wow ok. Do you download the firmware update from the Gap website then? I need to get an IID BT then.

I am not sure if I had to download anything - I use an Ipad with the IID tool and from memory it was all pretty seamless.

Having said that, the Ipad did have good WiFi access at the time.

I cannot recommend owning an IID tool highly enough anyway. Apart from being able to sort problems like this, it also gives you peace of mind that you can diagnose any issues you might encounter yourself along the road without relying on a dealer and you have the benefit of being able to customise many of the settings on your car.

If you sell your car, the IID's seem to sell for really strong money so to my mind, a bit of a no-brainer.

Ok. Went ahead and did the flash upgrade. Took about 45 minutes and so far all is well.

Will have to see if it solves having to put the PIN in all the time 2007 3.6 TDV8

Wish we had gone IID! We have a DA Dongle and for some reason we can’t read the SUB_MOST which includes the tel ecu so can’t flash it Big Cry
