hello
i have heard these arguments, and there are counter arguments as well.
in some countries bioethanol is used since more than 10 years with no major problems.
it does not burns hotter, but colder than petrol..
you are right for the fact it is hygroscopic.
i try to get the truth from the false in all informations available...
and honestly at the moment there is more pro-arguments than against.. Current: L322 TDV8 4.4

hi guys
after a few month of hesitations i finally decided to install a flexfuel kit and not remap the FF.
In case things goes wrong or anyelse i can easily remove it and go back to origin.
i had it done by my local techie, who instaled and sold it to me.
it is nearly unnoticeable at first sight..

but if you look closer..

the kit comes between the original harness of the injectors and the injectors plugs.
and it works by adjusting the amount of fuel injected depending if it is bioethanol or petrol or a mix.
the "electronic" stuff is in a box, located in the fuse box of the FF..

inside you have two adjusting screws

one for cold start , one for mixture.

i run it since a month roughly, i did perhaps 1000km (not my daily car..) and i had to adjust the mixture step by step, i had a few times the orange warning light on (system too lean..) cleared with iidtool..and now i found the right balance.
the car runs great, no loss of power, everything ok..
and i fill it up at.......0.6€/liter vs petrol...1.5€!
is costed me a little bit less than 600€ instaled and i have nearly 10% more consumption.. Current: L322 TDV8 4.4

Our decorative fireplace runs on bio-ethanol, very pretty especially in the winter evenings.

Sorry, but no experience of running a FF on it though....
