to remap or not to remap that is the question

Ok so I've asked for a few prices off folks and DMS have come back to me quickly, they can increase the power to 395bhp, and the torque to a shade under 600lbft.

That all sounds very exciting, however has anyone remapped their 4.4 yet? does it make a massive difference in the way the car drives. would you do it again? etc.

haven't made my mind up however something with a little more oomph might stave off the craving for a slightly faster car.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I re-mapped my previous 4.4 L322 and I had no issues.

The engine felt a lot smoother and increase in torque was very noticeable. more miles per gallon as well.

Mine was undertaken by JE Motors in Coventry. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

I had the wife`s GTD golf done after VW did emissions fix which completely messed up the golf,
The car before was good but now totally different car 168bhp to 229.3 bhp on the dyno. saving up to have the FF done as soon as possible.

Both my bosses had their 4.4 re maped mainly to blank the egr, and didn’t notice a huge difference had it done by Celtic tuning.

I’m in 2 minds. Big Cry

Really fancy it and she’s looking sweet at the moment so want to keep her. She’s booked in for a service in a couple of weeks so was going to wait until after that in either case. A good oil change and fettle might do the trick.

Reminds me I need to make a snag list for this years service. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I'm of the view that the 3.6 needs a remap, but the 4.4 doesn't.

I had my 3.6 done, but informed my insurers, so increased my premium and also restricted my options as a number of companies said no......

Other things have over taken the Remap.... Looks like me and SWMBO will possibly be building a new house..... so that’s where all pennies have now been diverted, into a wallpaper and kitchen worktop fund.

May be able to argue for a remap on the grounds of extra towing power for the trailer when full of bricks..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
