United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Epsom Green
From P38 to L322

Hi guys newbie here been lurking a while but have now jumped from a P38 to a 2002 L322 Vogue 3.0 TD Thumbs Up
Generally very pleased until on friday my missus decided to adjust the passenger seat and operated the electric adjustment to make the seat back come up to a more upright position which it duly did, problem is that now it wont recline I can hear a clicking noise and a whiring noisewhen the switch is operated but the seat back doesnt move Confused If I operate the seat to bring it more upright it still works that way but wont go back. Confused Confused Has anyone come accross this before or any ideas what may be wrong.
Thank you in anticipation

I haven’t had this type of problem. I’ve had another minor problem. You could try unbolting the seat and carefully tilting it back to try to see the problem and possible solution. That’s what I did. It’s very simple to do, only 4 bolts. Good luck. ______________________________

And welcome to the forum. I assume you are reasonably handy from being a P38 owner. Very Happy ______________________________

Thanks for the responses but still no further forward so I will make another appeal is there anyone local to me that could help out here? Here is the full situation I suffer with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis my left knee has recently been removed and my mobility is virtually nilly. The range rover is great for getting me about with a wheelchair but with the seat issue is virtually impossible. Also it's mot is due in less than a month away.
I live in Leeds so if anyone can recommend anyone who may be able to help me to sort the issue out or any independent range rover specialist. Obviously I would pay I am just trying to avoid having my pants removed by the steamers. All suggestions welcome. Thanks

Try checking the wiring loom under the seat. Had (one of many!) issues with ours a while back, the drivers seat was in the forward position for my wife, but then it would not go back at all for me. Turned out it was a broken wire in the loom under the seat, where it loops round and the constant forward / backwards movement had caused one of the wires to break.
