Is this 5.0 SC Expensive?

I have a 2018MY 5.0 SC Autobiography on order and once again I've been let down by the dealer with regards to the delivery date. I've been told today that the car I ordered in September 2017 is now coming on the 6th of June 18!

Delivery has already been moved three times from the 31 of January, to 1st of March then to the 27th of April.

This is the excuse I've being given today from Solihull via my dealer:

‘’ Re latest communications confirm (300PA) 24-way heated and cooled, massage front seats with Executive Class rear seats(032BV) Leather Steering Wheel(088HF) Veneer-Shadow Walnut is constrained therefore orders will move backwards in build.’’

My wife's was going to get a used RR Sport but has agreed to a used FFRR instead Smile - Please can you all let me know your thoughts on the link below - I've always loved the Epsom / Aintree Green's but this seems a lot of money for a 5 year old car!

Is it expensive - Yes or no?

Anyone had experience of this dealer - good or bad?

Your thoughts please?

I’m no expert.

But as you asked ...

... compared to diesel cars of the same age it seems hideously expensive.

I’m sure somebody who knows way more than me will be along in a minute. What do I put here then?

There are others at 49k with albeit a tad more miles - I would say it is priced high - only my opinion

im looking at this one but petrols are dearer than diesels as the diesels are taking a kicking by news stories and JLR are even losing sales and giving staff more days off as sales decline

It is not over priced. If you search the market for 5.0 under 40,000 miles then asking prices start at £59k. The cheapest at a main dealer is £66.5 ( lower mileage, better warranty).

The 5.0 is rare. In Aintree Green it’s even more rare.

If you negotiate you’ll get a grand or two off. Or spend extra and get a LR approved car from a dealer. If you can find one... or get something more leggy and spend £10k less, which if the head rules the heart (and your wife is not a high mileage driver) is probably more sensible. But it almost certainly won’t be green.

Thanks all for your replies - I searched and yes it does look kind of about right compared to others, that said I think they're all asking too much and these will soon take a significant hit due to age.

I'm going to keep looking and try to find a newer one at a bit more money.

Thanks again for your comments

Looks very nice, but I’m not sure about the wheels? Does one of the Learned Collectve know if they are a Land Rover wheel, can’t recall seeing them before. Were they an option on the AB?

They are a Land Rover wheel, Style 8. Green without ghetto windows is surely a desirable thing.

Thanks @Trommel, I knew someone would know.

Every day’s a school day Thumbs Up

Agree that the colour, upholstery, veneers, windows and engine make it a highly desirable car.

There is a 2013 I noticed in Seattle Washington with 53k miles for $59,000 US ($42,585 pounds I believe) same color and interior.

That car at James French could be Galway Green not Aintree which came in later I think or maybe at about the same time.

Beautiful colour whichever one it is though!

Definitely Aintree Green Thumbs Up

Rare and no longer made; it’s now one of the strongest arguments for switching to a used purchase - if you can find one!

I'm about to take delivery of a British Racing Green Ultra metallic (whatever that means!!) car which is very like Aintree, except it now cost me £3750 to get a green car!!

LR made their name with green cars for us peasants that live in the middle of nowhere and now they charge us for being loyal to their brand!! I'd like to meet that Mr McGovern one day to discuss their colour policy!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Hi Chalky - I'm completely with you on going for Green....... In my opinion it's the most understated, classic Range Rover colour.

However, just make sure you are happy with the current shade of green that you've ordered - For me it was just a bit too bling..... It has a very heavy metallic fleck to it, which sort of sparkles and therefore slightly contradicts the understated appeal of past shades of green, such as Aintree and Epsom.

So you can be sure for yourself before fully committing and taking delivery, I have attached a video link below which doesn't show a great deal of outside paintwork, although it does on the freeze frame for the video below and also does talk about the colour and show quite a good example between minutes 7.30 and 8.15 in the video.

Hopefully this helps and you're still happy with it - If not, definitely better you know now:
