2015 L405 and Blackvue camera - Batter won't take it!

So, I have installed a BlackVue front and rear camera into my L405, using the BlackVue battery box direct to the battery - This monitors the voltage and cuts off the supply at 12.0 or 12.5 volts (user selectable).

My issue is that at either voltage setting the RR does not like it at all - The Battery low display lights up, the tailgate won't work, interior lights go off after about 3 second etc etc. Interestingly the BlackVue con tines recording, so the voltage must be above 12 or 12.5.

So given that I cannot adjust the Blackvue box to a high voltage, has anyone else had this issue or solved it?

Thanks Andy - Guess a new battery may be called for.

I have mine on an ignition live circuit - recording whilst parked didn’t seem a priority vs being able to start the car.....,

My BlackVue (650) goes in to standby mode when parked. Recently had a window smashed while parked at the airport. The culprit wandered around for 3 mins before doing the deed. He’s now on bail and going to court in mid-April. The police were very thankful for the video as he was known to them but they didn’t have sufficient evidence before this to arrest him. So I found it useful having the BlackVue on standby when parked. It uses the magic pro to put it in to standby.

The new one I am having fitted shortly (750) allows real-time remote access via the app. MY23 D350 HSE

Phil, so you don’t get any battery low issues with our BlackVue setup?

No battery problems and its been fitted 2 years. Each year I leave the RR parked up for a month and it always starts.

The Power Magic Pro (PMP) has a configurable cut off voltage so if your battery starts to drop then it switches the BlackVue off so it shouldn't ever cause the RR not to start.

The PMP also has a standby (parking mode) switch that can be set to switch the BlackVue to standby when either the battery voltage drops or after a configured time lapse. My is set to go to standby shortly after the RR has stopped, so even less chance of draining the battery. MY23 D350 HSE
