Xenon-LED-Matrix Laser

Read a report about complaints of excessive dazzle from LED headlights.
In certain weather conditions they can be distracting on country roads.
I had an Audi in 1998 with the relatively new Xenons and on dipped, would have hostile main beam blasts from oncoming vehicles.
It seems a similar pattern now occurs for LED headlights.
In 2014 Audi introduced Matrix Laser headlights which are claimed as being twice the range of LED's (albeit with advanced light distribution technology).
Ford are also developing advanced technology for improved LED distribution.

So, why do my 405 Xenon headlights sometimes seem too low a beam and lacking in strength?
The 322's and previous 405 seemed better. Is this something to do with the headlight leveling system?

I miss being able to give a quick and powerful high beam flash these days. Whistle

I also believe the 405 is lacking. My 322 was far better and both disco 5 and velar I’ve driven where another level. Does anyone know if there are stronger bulbs that can be fitted to the 405? Thanks.

I also noticed this - my late 322 VSE also had far stronger headlights - I thought the 405's had been dimmed down for the auto dip feature as sometimes the auto dip is late reacting 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Guys have you tried adjusting the beam ? I did on my sport and they became the usual RR standard strong lights.

Ditto... so interested in the final solution. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Had a look and above the light cluster (under bonnet) sits a removable black plastic cover.

Nearest the grill, both near and offside show a dipped headlight and 1.2%. I assume this is % below horizontal.

If these plastic covers are removes, will I find something similar to Stan's diagram fro the 322?

Even if possible, not keen to reset % without proper setup, so will ask for dealer to check on service which will be April/May.

The headlight levelling sensor was replace about 18 months ago after pothole damage. Wonder if this has an influence?
