United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue
Model Year Difference

I'm on the hunt for a 5.0 SC FF at the moment and have seen some low mileage 09MY's right up to the 12MY's.

Does anyone have a list of know what the difference are between the 09,10,11 and 12MY are? It's amazing the variance of spec on the Autobiography's, they mostly all seem to be black as well!

Shame there's no AB Ultimate's for sale! Laughing

Actually, purely out of interest, does anyone on here actually own one? I remember seeing one for sale a couple of years ago but have never seen mention of another on the forum since!

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Supercharged 5.0 SC V8 Stornoway Grey

The number of black (and then white) ones is amazing, and annoying!

I was similarly severely limited in my search over the last few months, but did pick up what seems to be a lovely 2011 Stornoway Grey model 2 weeks ago.

Agreed that the spec of 2009-2012 Autobiography vehicles seems to vary a lot, and in terms of number of toys at least the "base" Autobiography spec seems lower than VogueSE for 4.2 S/C (i.e. no RSE, no DVD, no TPMS, etc). Sadly I haven't seen any direct comparison over the 2009-2012 years though.

But I think all the 2009-2012 Autobiographies got the full leather treatment inside with leather dash, door cards, full leather headlining, etc., DualView screen was standard, Adaptive headlamps, Style 19 wheels. But things like the surround camera system and RSE were still optional on the Autobiography, and so not all have them fitted.

I was trying to get my head around what is standard and what was an option so I put this together (mainly for 2010/11):

(PS not sure if this is 100% correct, I just put it together to try to understand the differences between models) Cheers, Greg

The quality of the leather also is higher spec I.e. VSE and above is better than Vogue, plus there were smaller things like luggage nets, and elec gate / garage door opening etc 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Here's the 2012 Westminster v Autobiography specs from the 2012 Brochure that we have:

I'm interested to know if anything else changed between 10,11 and 12 other then the colour of the headlights.

David I've PM'd you, I can send you the 2011 options / spec list.

Do study it and compare to the one you just posted because somebody told me they dropped standard items off the 2012 cars and made some options. Not sure which. Westminsters well specced though (sought after too) and have standard items like 1200w stereo and illuminated tread plates so it's all different year by year in terms of gadgetry.

Pulling back a bit to the bigger differences, mainly regarding the diesels:

MY2009 - there was the facelift front with the bumper that comes up higher below the headlights, new LED headlights and LED tail lights. The TFT dash came in too. Interior revisions too. But the engine remained as the 3.6TDV8 until MY2010

MY2010 the 4.4 engine came in (July), with the rotary knob gear changer controlling the new 8-speed box

MY2011 differences mainly within the options list. I think the grill was subtly different.
(I also read there are also 2011.5 differences too and it's all a bit of a moving target)

MY2012 Vogue and Vogue SE dropped and replaced with the 'runout' Westminster. Black grill surround (not grey) and black headlight 'insides'

There are guru people here which could probably expand (or correct) the above.

MY's also don't start in January which confuses things too. Eg you'll probably be able to find a January 2012 Vogue SE because the month they released the Westminster was released in Feb2012.

Regards,
Greg

2012 Article:

Quote:
L322 bows out with ‘Individuality and Assertiveness’

By February 2012, the third-generation Range Rover was ten years old and a replacement model codenamed L405 was just six months away from being formally announced. Despite this, Land Rover decided to commemorate this important milestone by releasing a new special runout edition called the Westminster to replace the Vogue and Vogue SE derivatives. This would also coincide with a greater range of interior colours being offered for the flagship Autobiography.

The final sales brochure issued for the L322 made reference to the Range Rover Autobiography being “the supreme expression of craftsmanship and exclusiveness. Every Range Rover Autobiography now displays even more individuality and assertiveness through the Exterior Design Pack which is fitted as standard and 20-inch shadow-chrome alloy wheels” in a 15-spoke design.

The Exterior Design Pack was offered with just seven mainline exterior colours. Thankfully, Land Rover also allowed those customers wanting a more understated profile to specify their Range Rover Autobiography without this pack and also choose from a total of nine exterior colours.

For the interior there was a choice of six wood veneers and eleven single tone and five duotone colourways for the leather seats, all with contrasting stitching. The Autobiography’s standard specification now extended to a 19-speaker, 1200W Harmon/Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system and the Style Pack which offered rear seats with recline and lumbar adjustment, heating and cooling functions and multi-adjustable aircraft-style head restraints. These outgoing Autobiography models had an on-the-road price of £84,295 for the TDV8 diesel and £86,895 for the 5-litre V8 Supercharged petrol.

I believe there was also a change to the 5.0’s at some point as I don’t believe the early cars had the paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel.

I think these came in on the 10.5MY from what I can work out.

Agreed, the earlier 2009 S/C's had the 5.0l engine, but not the paddles from what I've seen, although they were a fairly easy retrofit.
