Silicone vs rubber

I will be replacing all my induction hoses soon. What's peoples thoughts on going silicone vs genuine rubber?

I personally don't like that they are normally blue but dont want to be digging round the engine again to replace split rubber! __

In 2009 I fitted a Forge Silicone 5 hose kit to my Skoda Octavia Vrs.
They are sited from turbo outlet to inlet manifold so, as well as being heated, are subjected to being pressurised.
I also fitted them using marine grade stainless hose clamps not those stupid wire jobs
They are still looking very good with no leaks,
If you dont like blue there are a number of companies now that offer different colours.

Silicone doesn't degrade / perish like rubber so is a miles better upgrade although probably a lot more expensive.
