Sat Nav Software and Map Upgrades

As I have a 2006 SC with RSE, I assume I have the Denso Sat Nav unit as apposed to the BMW MkIV unit ??

Where is the best place to get any firmware updates and map discs?

Thanks Current MY2020

Thanks Scary.

I also want to have the update to use the Nav on the move which means handing money over to the dealer. So I'm considering a Garmin, Navman or similar as a more effective solution than the RR nav. Thoughts? Current MY2020

nav on the move is expensive..i tend to put all my destinations in at the beginning then when on the move i pick recent destinations...the beauty of the built nav which is very good btw, is an aftermarket nav has to be fixed up at the start and taken down when you reach where your going, not to bad at the beginning but this will annoy you after a while.. ... - .- -.

Sorry to be dense, but what do you mean by nav on the move? Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

The later models - 2005+ do not allow you to enter an address whilst on the move - although I thought this was a "market restriction"? Could be wrong though as I dont know much about the newer ones...

Your 2002 Bozman is fine though, mk3 and mk4 did not have this limitation.

Follow this link...it explains how to make it work on the fly...works like a charm on my06 HSE...if you shut the car off, you would have to do the procedure again to make it work..

if you have access to an IDS system (diagnostic stuff) you can do it by yourself. There is a how to for the dealers on LR's topix system.

753 can allow front passenger to watch a dvd film aswell though , but the only time I have found it useful is when sat in traffic and I am stop starting a lot and don't want to keep putting the car out of gear and the handbrake on just to see the TV for a few seconds (as the other annoying thing is that when you do use the normal method, the screen is always shrunk back on the left hand side of the screen again and you have to tap it to resize it to full screen each time you stop - dumb!). Steve
