Who wants to play "Identify the hose" game Thursda

Hi guys

2004 TD6

Not being lazy, but cant clamber about too much in engine bay at moment because of bad back. Changing oil filter today the top has sheared straight off. Not an issue ill sort that later as its not leaking. Just did oil as road trip to Nottingham in a week.

Whilst i was working on it ive come across 2 hoses. The first is hanging down on the N/S.. About as thick as a pencil and looks like its wrapped itself around something at sometime and the ends all munched up.. Im guessing its the overflow from the radiator but it only has a tiny 1 or 2mm internal bore.

The other one im a bit concerned about. Ive had a slight diesel leak i havent been able to trace.. Could this be anything to do with it? I know there are breathers and things, but the "unconnected" end seems quite clean. As if its been attached recently.. Also the connector is barbed as if it should have a hose connected.
It doesnt suck or blow when running.

Pics taken standing from front of bonnet. Pipe runs from front of engine and up the N/S around "Broken" oil filter!

Thanks in advance

I checked today and that pipe is held in a clip but connected to nothing, it may be a breather for something or we both have the same problem !
And this has a slight diesel leak i think which could well be the high pressure pump, there is a thread on here somewhere

Your a gent. I’ll grab pic in morning. It’s hanging down by the N/S steering gator. It’s about as thick as a pencil but only has about a 1-2mm internal bore.
The ends been melted over where it’s rubbed on something.
I kinda guess it could be a rad or expansion over flow. But tiny bore makes me wonder. Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!
