P0088 fuel rail/ system pressure too high

Got this fault code as per title.
Symptoms are loss of transmission/ limited to 3rd gear. Engine in limp home mode, HDC inactive, Parking brake fault on dash.
I'm sure I've seen this posted up recently but for some reason the search option isn't working on here.
Any idea's chaps.

Edit. Found the previous post on this. ( search function didn't like the forward slash) Rolling Eyes 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

The cure

Finally got to the bottom of this and it's a lesson for all. After checking all the usual suspects like weak battery, top intercooler hoses, system reset etc. I was sitting inside the car when it was idling and noticed it wasn't as smooth running as before. Not lumpy by any means but not silky smooth.
Maybe the injectors are a bit gunky Idea
Rang SWMBO as she was out and told to by the best injector cleaner she could get. A bottle of Dipetane was handed to me when she returned. No, Ive never heard of it either. Put it in as a stronger mix and let idle for 20 mins.
Still getting the bongs... Went for a run to really get the revs up as it would only get a hissy fit when idling.
After 20 miles stopped to idle and no bong. Drove a bit more and now I can really feel the smoothness return. I let it idle at home still no bongs.
So, I have just started her up again from cold and NO bongs.
I thought injector cleaner was snake oil but not this stuff. Bow down Bow down Thumbs Up 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Glad you got it sorted Grofus! And for only fifteen quid too. That's a result!

It's funny - a quick google and I went here: https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=51340

which is the usual sequence of posts:
- snake oil,
- snake oil,
- snake oil,
- no it def works,
- response: oh first post, yeah right
- snake oil,
- snake oil,
- snake oil

which, without your testimonial Grofus, you'd take from that it's snake oil right?

So I'm thinking maybe some of these additives do actually work?

Greg

OEM say it’s coincidence

I had one in a while back with the same errors, albeit a 2010 model

Some days, I couldn’t get out the car park without a bong.
Other days, I could do 50-60 miles without issue

Time will tell I suppose Thumbs Up

How did you resolve your issue or it the same?

Given that as soon as I slowed or stopped and the revs dropped below 1000-1200 RPM it would throw up the errors, ( I literally had to fire up and go) and last night it happily idled away during, and after the run and then again from cold, I don't agree its a coincidence chap. I will give it a week and post back but I'm expecting good news.

In all honesty, I actually said to SWMBO take it back as its not a cleaner but a lubricant. Nowhere on the bottle did it say cleaner. So I looked it up on the net and after a quick read, thought what do I have to lose.
In it went and with it, the errors. I'm as surprised as you hence my post. If comes up again in the next week I'll post it here but for now.... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal
