United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Nara Bronze
Nara Bronze 5.0 S/C

Hi all,

Here are a few pics of my new FF. These are actually the dealers pics as I haven't picked it up yet. Hoping to do so on Thursday.

It's a 2011 on 82,000 miles with a FLRSH and what I think is a particularly good spec. On top of the usual Autobiography bits it has:
- Vision assist pack (all round cameras, blind spot monitors, main beam assist)
- Harman Kardon HD
- Heated/cooled electrically adjustable rear seats/4 zone climate
- RSE with remote & 1 set of headphones
- FBH with remote
- Deployable side steps
- 21" L405 style 5 wheels in shadow chrome
- Modified bumpers/square exhausts/grills (not sure what this option was called)
- Detachable tow bar (although couldn't find the actual tow bar - boot floor bin was empty)
- Full set of rubber and carpet mats

I liked the exterior colour as soon as I saw the pictures. I was quite keen to avoid black as it's a nightmare to keep clean (brown should solve that!) and white is not to my taste, so I was already struggling to find a suitable S/C when this came up 10 miles from home. Result! I wasn't too sure about the brown leather from the pictures but I think it looks OK in the flesh. The jury is still out on the wood trim though. I may have to investigate a swap to an all leather steering wheel at some point but I'll wait and see if it grows on me.

Now I just need to learn how to manoeuvre such a leviathon without crushing children and small cars.

This is a great forum and hopefully I'll be able to contribute something at some stage.

Cheers,
Jon

Morning Jon

A very nice looking car, and you will have lots of enjoyment from it I'm sure. Agree on the colours, ours is black and a nightmare to keep clean. The extra list looks good and with all the parking aids avoiding small beasts should be a doddle. The size seems less when you're driving as it has corners fairly easy to judge.

On the tow bar, if you have not beaten the dealer to his knees on price, tell them to supply the missing bit. If it's an original fitting from Westphalia (I think, but happy to be corrected) they run from £250 to£320.

Links may assist. I've no connection with either, fitted ours from a local guy.

Cheers and enjoy

Richard

Jon

From those pics, the car looks really nice. That colour is pretty rare, wont show the dirt, and looks stunning in the sunshine when it is clean. It is also pretty rare to find one with such an impressive specification - I cannot think of anything that is missing - the first owner must have really gone to town.

I had the same quandary with the steering wheel on mine but now I love it. So - live with it a bit and see how you get along.

As Richard says - you will soon get used to the size of the car - the fact that you can actually see all four corners (plus the vision assist) should make it a pretty easy transition from whatever you were used to.

You're welcome on the towbar. And you must update when you get her home.

Only on more sleep

Very nice - I loved the look of Nara Bronze (and that leather as well), but ended up with a Stornoway 5.0 S/C and Ivory!

I've really enjoyed mine since picking it up 6-8 weeks ago, I hope you have great fun with yours - looks to be a superb spec with all the toys.

When /if the dealer says NO , counter with, just nick the bit off another one... worked for me when I wanted a full size tire...

Enjoy Thumbs Up

P.s. like the colour , same as mine except mine has been given a different name in the spec, Yet just called brown in the log book!!!!! Rolling with laughter Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

Damn the banks! They're taking so long shifting my money around I've missed being able to pick it up before the long weekend. Tuesday seems a long way away.

The plot thickens on the tow bar. The dealer now thinks that either it was never fitted, despite it being listed on some paperwork he has, or it has all been taken off when the alternative bumpers were fitted. I suspect he might be right as I couldn't see sign of anything when I peered underneath. Bear in mind this is a small car dealer who happens to have got hold of a FF so probably knows less than I do about them (which isn't much). Not really a problem for me as a tow bar was not something I was looking for.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know whether this bumper kit was an official LR option/kit?
