Anybody know what this could be ? (L322 2006 TDV8)

Anyone have any ideas what this is & what it should be connected to ?

While installing dashcam hard wiring to the passenger fuseboard, this item fell down from the fuseboard area onto the carpet in the passenger footwell.
It looks almost like a very lightweight, partially insulated flexible earth strap - but obviously I can't see what the original connections are like as it it's either fatigued through or been torn out & I can't see any of the connections on the fuseboard without taking a lot of trim out..

The strap is about 8mm wide & 40mm long.

The engine still runs & there's no obvious faults so I'm not sure if it was previously just loose under the fuseboard or if I've somehow dislodged it - although no force was required to feed a cable through behind the fuseboard.

Stan,
I don't think it was in the glovebox - it dropped when I was moving the trim panel under the fusebox ( the one above the passengers feet)
I also found a 15A fuse that had been dropped at some time. That was definitely resting on the trim. Paul,

It's for the heated windscreen.

Does it still work? Maybe it's an old one if the screen has been replaced.

Paul,

Thanks for the info.
It was working a couple of months ago.
But I'll check in the morning.
Where I was working was a long way below the screen, so hopefully I can't have knocked it off. Paul,

One end of it is bonded to the windscreen and the other should have a connector on which plugs into the wiring on either side of the A pillar so doubtful it would just fall off. My guess is it's from a previous windscreen and the fitters just cut it off as they were removing it.
