Seat belt warning sounds like strangled turkey

My MY2015 has just started making a very different sound when the seat belt warning bongs or if lights left on etc. It sounds a bit like a strangled turkey. Has anyone come across this before? I had just given it a fairly heavy power wash after getting mud in the wheel arches after going down a very muddy track. Could this be water in the alarm speaker? If so, where is it?

i would have thought that the speaker is in the cab somewhere so it could be water ingress through the windscreen or bulkhead possibly. ... - .- -.

Of course, it isn’t like the old horns under the bonnet but must be in the cab where it needs to be heard. Even more mysterious in that case. I can’t imagine that water got inside the vehicle.

Hopefully someone will have an idea on this.

You can disable the seat belt warning by doing the belt up 9 times one after the other. To re-enable do the same

Problem solved. Maybe it dried out or fixed itself but we are back to a healthy bong.
