CHANGING WHEELS ADVICE NEEDED

I love my FF but made the mistake of not upgrading the wheels to the 21" style 101 wheel.
I've seen a few of these now kicking about on the 'bay and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/experience/advice on changing wheels without going through their main dealer?

As long as you get genuine LR wheels, I don’t believe it affects your warranty, etc.

Buy them and head to your favourite, local tyre place and ask them to swap the wheels for you.

Don’t forget to get them balanced first. What do I put here then?

What are you worried about ?

Whilst the rolling radius is the same, I'd also swap the spare at the same time

If you have TMPS you might need to get the wheels coded to the car, but otherwise it's easy.

As the wheels and tyres will be slightly taller than the standard 322 set-up your speedo will read lower, in my case it was almost exactly right, if anything under-reading slightly when tested against my Road Angel Gem which works off satellites and so should be more accurate than the speedo itself. The centre of gravity will be fractionally higher too, so in extreme cases your rollover risk would be marginally greater, but I'd be surprised if there were much in it.

You might want to tell your insurers as it is a "modification" from the standard 322 spec.

There is also the point that your spare wheel will be marginally smaller, while it may not be as bad for more modern RRs to have different sizes on the same axle, it is probably best avoided. I must confess I stuck to the same space saver with my 322, thankfully I never had to use it. The ideal would be to have a spare that is the same size, failing that I'd be cautious about driving too far with mismatched wheels. Only Range Rovers since 1988
