The recommended grade seems to be 5w40, there will also be specifications to be met, you could call at John Clark LR and ask what they recommend. Maybe in the summer you'd get away with a decent quality 10W40. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Personally, I'd sort it straight away. However, I'm no oil expert and it might well be fine.

Can you just explain to me how is 10w40 can damage engine?

It will be fine unless it gets very cold up there in Aberdeen - the 5w is thinner so flows better when cold 4.4 AdBlu Tractor
