Unidentifiable rear seat attachment?

Looking for help here please, what is this attached to the back of the centre

rear seat (2006 Supercharged) complete with traces of glue. It looks built in and not an add on.
Your thoughts most welcome.
Keith.

I could maybe see that if it opened. But looks more like a ski jump for pygmies jumping off the headrests!

Thank you for this,
Should it open as some kind of hatch then, I’m taking it that it should be finished in the same carpet as the seat backs

Opens from the back seats. Put the arm rest down and then undo the leather cover (attached at the top with velcro). you should the see the clip that holds the hatch shut. If it is the ski hatch it will have a ski bag hidden in there 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Thank you Andy, At first light I will take a look, should the metal be trimmed with carpet, looks like it is covered with an adhesive.

Would need to go and look to see if mine has either a carpet trim, plastic cover or is plain metal 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Yes it is the ski hatch and should be finished in the same carpet as the rest of the boot. Mine was the same when I got got my SC but l found the missing carpet in the spare wheel well I stuck it back with carpet glue been fine ever since. The worst thing about being retired is you miss out on all the bank holidays

Thank you for all the useful replies,

Played around at the weekend and I found a very Germanic labelled long long Ski bag down the hatch.

Does anyone here know where I may obtain a patch of matching carpet.

Thanks again.

Keith.
