Speaker question

Hello - I have the hse amp setup and want to upgrade the bass speakers, the mods and tweeters are the same as the dsp setup only the bass differs according to rave... I also have some hk mids and tweeters anyway from a newer ff.

Anyway looking on the forums they recommend infinity kappa 6.5 2ohm components. Great I found myself a pair.
There’s the problem a pair...

I can’t find anything else 2 ohm A’s requires except a pair of 2 way infinity kappas...

So here’s the question can I use 2 way speakers in a component setup? Will it just not ever output to the tweeter and just use bass as per component or will it be a bad idea? Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF

I’m a bit confused.....if you have a Vogue the DSP setup is standard fit....

What makes you think you have HSE setup? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Long story but inretrofitted the hse setup a while back...it made aftermarket headunit options a ton easier...

So any idea if I can use a two way as a bass component? Current stable:

Ah...ok. Well, I think technically each speaker cone will only provide sound within a set range of frequencies, and the crossover in a 2 way speaker splits the treble/mid/bass frequencies to each. So you could send bass frequencies to a mid range speaker but you will only hear the frequencies that the mid range speaker will produce, so you will not have the really low down response...... the HSE setup is not an active setup (the crossovers are not in the amp), so it should send all frequencies to all speakers and lets the speaker crossovers sort it out..... So in your scenario, you should get full treble and mid range sound from your new speakers as they are getting a full range signal.

Do you have a sub? Maybe that’s driven from a dedicated channel on the amp?

Does that make sense?

Hi there - hse is active it has an amp in the back with crossovers just no control I think the se is the one which has signal straight to the speakers no amp - my one shares the same tweeters and mods as dsp ... Current stable:

Ah....I’ve deleted RAVE...... in which case you will only hear the sound that the new speaker can produce, from the already filtered signal. So next to no treble.....But.....it should be at a lower volume as the signal will be driving the crossover in the new speaker that wasn’t there before. So those channels will be “passive” again.... do your new speakers just have 2 connections? Just wondering if you can feed the cone direct..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

If I’ve read the right ones, the Kappas have an outboard passive crossover, so I’d just fit it and see if you like it. Otherwise it’s a matter of cutting the crossover out and soldering direct to cars loom......

Ok cool - the next question is do these just bolt in? I or do I need to carve out the old speaker so it can be forward if the doorskin like the originals? Current stable:
