Scotland 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Rimini Red
New 4.4 TDV8 or 2010.5MY 3.6

Hello,

I am an occasional poster/lurker over on Disco3 and RRSport forums but recently went to test drive a Disco 4 and when we where there they gave us a 'go' on the new 4.4 TDV8!

Wonderful car, and we used to have an L322 TD6, so it brought back how nice a car the FFRR is esp compared to (even) the new Disco4.

Ever since then been thinking about the FFRR. Went back to dealer today and noted they have a 3.6 TDV8 2010.5MYl (59 plate, face lift, new TFT dash etc 39K miles) for £53K.

I know you get what you pay for, but do people think a brand new 4.4 FFRR is worth the extra 16K? I think the price of the 59 plate is a bit high, but are residuals in 2-3 years when the new 2013MY is out going to be that much different from 3.6 to 4.4?

I remember when I first drove the TDV8 compared to the TD6 and they were miles apart, is the difference to the 4.4 the same....not sure.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers,

Grant

Yes it is worth the difference.

I am conscious that I am boring people to death on this subject so I will be brief. If you had not tried the 4.4 I would have told you to buy the 3.6 and be happy with an amazing vehicle. Unfortunately you have ruined that by already driving the 4.4.

The MY10 did have a few issues which have been resolved with the MY11, namely no brembos and batteries that like to fail. *Gone* Discovery3 HSE

Drove a 3.6 and 4.4 back to back today.

There is a difference, but the 3.6 was still sprightly and with the facelift, kinda nice.

If money was no problem the 4.4 would win, but I might prefer to keep the £15K difference in my pocket.

It will buy a lot of diesel.

Might not be everyones choice but it feels good for me.

Thumbs Up Grant

Galway Green - great colour. A very nice change to the normal Black, Blue, Silver. D4s are a real big step up from the D3 but never could it compete with a FFRR Thumbs Up
