Wheel brace does not fit nuts

I decided I wanted to paint the callipers on the car yesterday, but when I tried to take the wheels off the 22mm wheel brace would not fit all of the wheel nuts, some fitted perfectly but at least half I could not get a 22mm socket or wheel brace on. I ended up having to by a small socket set from Halfords that had a 23mm socket included. Has any one else had a problem removing wheel nuts? Shocked

yep, swollen nuts on mine, have changed them once, now resigned to the fact they take a 23mm socket not a 22, its a feature. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I solved the problem by buying a set of solid nuts off eBay and they have been brilliant.
The galvanised coating tarnished to exactly the same silver as the wheels.
Sadly they don’t seem available now?
