2011 TDV8 - key battery died and now, with a new battery, the key doesn’t work at all.

Does this mean a trip to the dealer?

Ah... my second key has never worked.....but there’s only me use the car.

I want to change the fob to one that doesn’t fall apart but only having 1 working key makes it a gamble.

Think you might need a dealer or some diagnostic tool maybe to pair again.

This thread has just reminded me it must be about time to change my fob battery.

Please can someone just remind me of the little trick to clear the dash warning.
Something like double click the mirror switch or similar? memory going, old age

@Mike , my warning went out when new battery was fitted. I got new smaller style key , complete with internal for less than 40 stg off eBay,. 2015 4.4 AB

Not on all models sir... JLR have now released a security update that stops any aftermarket units coding keys on certain models...

ie i can now NOT code a key for my wifes D4!
