Urgent help needed 4.2 s/c fuel pump failure

All have changed the fuel pump and filter then it showed that the fuel pump control module had failed so replaced that but still the pump won't run
If I earth the pump it runs and she fires up first time so for some reason there is no signal /earth to pump to get it to run any ideas as due to leave for France on Saturday

I don't know if SandyT is even still on here but ...

Had this exact problem over the last week with my 4.2 SC

It cut out one night on acceleration, foot off the throttle and it ran well enough to get me home.

Next morning, tried to start it, wouldn't start until after the 4th attempt.

My mate who has an independent LR garage suggested fuel filter, changed that (the fuel in it was filthy) but it still wouldn't start, so on we went to the pump, new (genuine) pump fitted, still no start, but it would start easily if we ran an earth to the pump as in original post above.
Replaced the pump controller next (seemed the obvious thing to do) and it still wouldn't run.
Wasted a day trying lots of things, earthing the pump did work but the wire got hot and we got a fuel pressure too high warning as it wasn't cutting off when pressure reached (and now I know what a kilo pascal is Very Happy )

Spent loads of time googling the symptoms, found this thread, stole the fuel pressure sensor off my mates RRS 4.2 SC and it ran first time, ordered and fitted a new sensor to mine and it runs better than ever now!

Thank you SandyT, I'm not sure we'd have got there without this post, or at least not this week any way!
