Which tracker?

I know there has been some talk about trackers and insurance, but I have been given the following options by confused. Com in the drop down menu
None say Range Rover (66 full fat)

Any idea if JLR piggy back any of these?

Bill Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

The assumption of many insurers seems that trackers are all aftermarket fitments, so the LR tracker which is built in at the factory during normal build seems to be difficult for them. You should have Land Rover In Control Secure. You should be able to go on to the LR website, create a profile using your VIN and then download a certificate of installation. My insurers (Direct Line/Privilege) at first didn't accept that as it was not a certificate of installation (as not aftermarket), but once I explained that it was built in at the factory they did accept it. Whether that works with an online only comparison site is another question. Only Range Rovers since 1988

My incontrol expires in November, my insurer reluctantly accepted it but wanted a 5 not a 6 (think that was it). Wondering whether to pay the ransom to LR or get an aftermarket fitted. letters not necessarily in the right order

ICS is Thatcham 6, so if the insurers want 5 you presumably need to go aftermarket. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Cat5 seems a bit excessive over and above a built in Cat6 system. Seems the main difference is the Police Level 1 Response (if you can believe that!!)

Surely the important thing is location and tracking data.

If it were me I'd be looking for an insurer who's happy with the ICS Cat6 system. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography
2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Gone, but not forgotten

Part of the problem is that I have heard that the std trackers location or at least how to disable it is well known amongst thieves . Cat 5 really is the only way to go as the instant the car moves without the engine being running or without the 2nd fob being inside the cat an alert is raised !

I dare not say Embarassed who I insured with for 400 quid. ( saga!!!!!!) Rolling with laughter

But

The price tween having a tracker and not was. Nil , so said I didn’t have one, thus can’t make a mistake of selecting wrong option... no one to talk to anyway.
