navcoder help required please

Hi, so I’ve got a registered version of Navcoder, I’ve tried to read the radio, tv and Navigon units but it just keeps coming up with check interface connections and make sure device is switched on?? Can anyone shed any light as to what I’m doing wrong??

Is it USB to serial adapter? Could be the driver on the pc your using or maybe an incompatible chipset in the USB adapter? 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

I had a few issues with USB...you have to use the same socket you used when you set it up. My issues were PC related...not the car.... worth a check. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I’m using a usb to obd port adapter that I got from flea bay, it came with a disc but can’t seem to get the disc to load so maybe that is the problem, any idea where I might down load drivers from?

Try windows update. Any chipset info on the item you won? You could try searching for them on google if you have that info 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

To be honest I’m not a computer wizard and wouldn’t know about chipsets etc lol, laptop is only about a year old and up to date I believe 🤓

I meant the chip in the serial adapter. Have you got a link to the one you bought? I’ll have a look for you 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

I've had no problems but I'm using the Resler interface.

looks like that plugs into the OBDII socket. I had the Resler unit that connected to a USB serial adapter that then plugged into a cable you disconnected from the nav unit. Serial adapter chipset was finicky and had to be FDTI compatible. With yours plugging into the ODBII port I'm not sure....its either the drivers on the PC or com port needs setting.right click my computer\
Might be worth contacting the seller for driver download link first off. Also check comm port by clicking start\manage

When computer management pops up click on device manager in the list on the left hand side and have a look through there to see if there are any exclamation marks next to anything, also look under "ports (COM and LPT)

Does the software open? you may be able to check comm port settings in there too. 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

I think the cable you buy has to be compatible with navcoder....that one looks like it comes with its own diagnostic tool.....might be wrong....

Just trying to set a few bits n bobs, tv etc and supposedly I can use it for setting up Bluetooth for the phone etc when I’ve fitted it?
