Windscreen buzz/vibration from lower cowl...

Morning all.

I've got that awful hum/buzz coming from the bottom edge of the windscreen at anything over 55mph. From what I can tell its the usual vibration of the rubber strip, but is it possible to fix with the windscreen in place? Don't want to make anything worse for when the inevitable happens and I need a replacement. Is it as simple as gently prying the rubber strip away from the glass and squeezing in a thin bead of sealant? If so what's best to use?

Thanks in advance. Life is what happens while youre making other plans.

On mine it was the actual scuttle panel under the windscreen rather than the windscreen seal itself. Mine was lifting ever so slightly in the wind above 55mph- I just put some sealant around it and it went away. Also worth checking that the cabin pollen filter tabs are all locked in properly, the plastic poppers on each end are fully home and the rubber strip along the top between the panel and the bonnet is in place too. Current Fleet:-

Thanks for the tips. It was definitely the rubber strip at the top of the scuttle...bit of sealant and all appears ok Thumbs Up Life is what happens while youre making other plans.

What does it sound like, if your able to describe it? I have an irritating rattle in the cabin that sounds like its coming from the lower speaker grill on the passenger side. Hate noises you cant track down and was wondering if maybe something outside the car. 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

Noise coming from lower passenger door speaker was the lower front wing panel not clipped in place outside on mine. Also check the side grilles are screwed in tight as they can rattle too Current Fleet:-

thanks, i will check them. Although I've not noticed it today after i spotted a loose bracket in the door. Its the plastic bit that goes from the door to the wing with a male hex nut on it. Tightened it up, and so far all ok....now I need to fix the rattle on the centre console. Really need to get myself a workshop manual for all the odds and sods that need doing. 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8
