Park distance module - same as Sport and Discovery?

I need a new PdC module for my 2011 full fat.
I think the correct one is AH4215K866BG, but the one from the sport is the same number with an E on the end.
Does anyone know whether they’re interchangeable?

Thank you!

They are not interchangeable and AFAIK they are vin locked to the car when first used so you have to buy a new one. I went through several used units that never worked and several new ones due to water ingress.

Helpful, thanks.
There were some signs of condensation inside but it hasn’t recovered after a quick clean with isopropanol.

When mine went south last year or the year before, my Indy swapped in a module he had handy as a test.
I forget which vehicle he said it was from.

This worked in that the PDC warning tones started working again, thereby proving that the PDC module had failed.
However, as the donor vehicle did not have a rear camera, the replacement module was not equipped to support the PDC proximity warning graphics - the yellow and red/orange bars.

If I've understood his explanation correctly, enabling the proximity graphics requires the encoding of the PDC sensors individually to the PDC module. Each sensor is marked externally with an identification number for the purpose of this encoding. The rear bumper panel must be removed to gain sight of these. And of course the PDC module must be one which supports this feature.

Thanks Warwick, that’s really interesting.
My reversing camera (2011 Vogue SE) has never shown red and amber warning lines.
I assume this means that the module has been changed before and not had the sensors coded.

Incidentally, you’re not far from me (I’m in Beds). Which Indy do you use?

For servicing I alternate between Barnwell Motor Engineering and a family firm I've used for many years. Both have served me well.

Brandon at BME is ex-LR. I believe he worked on the L322 prototypes and perhaps others as well. So he knows his stuff. When water ingress wrecked the DSP amp in my erstwhile TD6, I fitted a second hand replacement. But this left the issue of splicing in a section of (second hand) wiring harness to replace the damaged portion. Not a straightforward task and one politely declined by others I'd approached. Unfazed, Brandon completed it in a couple of hours.

BME have the LR factory diagnostic and software update kit.
So my L322 gets a factory software update when serviced there every other year.

They are always busy - as you might expect.

Hope this helps.

If your PDC module has been replaced, the absence of the on-screen PDC graphics might mean that the currently installed module is a lesser model not supporting a rear camera. As per my earlier post, the module used to assist in diagnosing the PDC problem with my FF was one of these.

A replacement full function PDC module will not be cheap I'm afraid. Mine came in at £356 (inc VAT) fitted in April 2021.
Hope I'm not ruining your day....

Thanks Warwick.
Mine never had the on screen PDC graphics (just the static yellow marker lines showing vehicle width), so it’s not something I’ll particularly miss.

Although having said that… it might be nice to have the graphics too!

If it means I’m going to get the proper graphics, then it’s probably worth spending the money and doing the job properly.

Just checked prices for a new PAM and they have nearly doubled in the last year. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I can’t seem to find a picture of the graphics anywhere online.
Could you do me a massive favour and post a pic of yours please?
Just want to know what I’m getting before I buy!

Here's a photo of the PAM showing part no.

Apologies, thought I'd taken a shot of the on-screen graphics a while back. Appears I may have been mistaken. Will try to sort that in a day or so.
