had seat covers fitted today - not very happy

i ordered the front set covers from a main dealer and was told they are quite difficult to fit because they are custom made they are a 'tight' fit

so fitted this morning

well there about as tight fitting as £10 covers on fleabay Sad

ok they match the aspen piping and the carpets!

the fabric used is nothing special

and including discount they cost £202.50 fitted Mad

think i'll fire off a mail to RR and express my displeasure

indeed Very Happy

the whole idea of getting genuine ones was to get something that fits properly

part no VHBD00037LUP rrp £155 plus VAT

and to top it all a £1 surcharge to use a credit card Evil or Very Mad

the costs irrelevant but from a prestige 'marque' its a bit 'off'

well, just rung landrover customer services

you would think i'd rung the vatican asking about abortions/contraception Rolling with laughter

quote ' they are supposed to be loose fitting'

i asked why - 'so they can be taken off !'

and i said the wheels can be taken off as well Smile but they fit !

Every LR dealership is a franchise - so LR UK really don't care that your seat covers dont fit Sad. They also don't care if a LR dealer damages your car etc etc. The only time they may get involved is when your car is under the manufacturers (LR UK) warranty.

The seat covers are in the accessory section on LROI so really you should have had a look yourself first to see if any special tools were needed before crying rape by dealer...

Also, are you sure that Part# is right? I cant find it in Microcat...

i have the invoice here VHBD000370LUP - my error missed a '0' Sad

as for microcat or any other database thats irrelevant in my opinion - how many owners have ever heard of microcat?

as an owner from anything from a ford focus to a ferrari (and i've owned one) you ring up the main dealer and ask a question and expect to get an honest/truthful answer - this clearly was not so in my case

Any chance of a photo to see what the fuss is about.

How did you order them, as the distance selling regulation is there to give consumers protection about buying products they have not seen, although I don't think it applies if you ordered from a shop.

Cheers

No V in their code? It looks like someone has done CTRL+V (paste) whilst typing the inv...

FYi in the future, Rimmer are definitely not the cheapest source out there to compare against, just wack the part number into google to get the best price generally.
