Thank chaps.
I know it is going to be difficult if not impossible to get a car similar.
What did it for me was the loan car i have also has issues and this had 8 miles on it when they dropped it off.
the bottom screen was coloured red on start up on one occasion.
Last night the climate control system kept on turning off and the dash display was showing the range rover symbol.
It has the same creaking noise coming from the passenger side of the car as mine as
Total an utter sham to be honest lost all faith in the brand
can't wait to get rid of it and move on.
There is a slight glimmer of hope for me and that is I have heard through the grapevine the new FFRR is having a brand new system as they are ditching this one all together.
I have been told the current one is built around a system which was built by RR themselves instead of using a tried and tested one to save money, if this true this has well and truly backfired in my eyes anyway.

I am sorry to see that it’s not only me that has this quality problems. I am almost in same situation. I rejected my MY17 and got an new MY 18 and like your one the faults keep coming. Just got the car back from the dealer for third time with latest software and Apple carplay but the bugs keep coming. The infotainment system seems to get power drops or power spikes from the engine auto stop function and the system sometimes get black after stop/start or freeze. Pic of the cars is showed up instead of map in the screen above the steering wheel, sometimes no media sources available, sometimes the 3g/4G modem do not connect and I need to manually disconnect and connect it again, sometimes Bluetooth to IPhone don’t work, car don’t remember latest suspension setting etc etc. It’s unbelievable that they can’t solve this after soon 2 years of problems. I will soon give up, I can’t have a car that drives me mad.

Curiously, the infotainment system software on my MY 17 fatty is a lot, lot, less bug ridden than the iOS12 on my iPhone 8 Evil or Very Mad so it’s not just Land Rover and I can appreciate your frustration!

Hi mate,
i agree to a certain point about software issues and updates.
The problem i have from what i have experienced is Land Rover ain't fixing them.
I have said this somewhere my wife has a C220D cabriolet and my son has a E220D Mercedes, both have different layout and systems but guess how many updates and faults they have been back for the past 24 months, yep you guessed it.
NONE. If they had i could have a little more sympathy for Land Rover.
It is the time and the stress it causes which is turning me off Land Rovers.

How disheartening...

EVERY Land Rover forum is filled with stories like this where it ends in the vehicle being rejected and the owner loosing faith in the brand.

Is Land Rover bothered in the slightest by this? Is anyone actually taking owners experiences and concerns seriously?

Jim

I've just agreed to be on the JLR Advisory Board online so I can report concerns such as are being aired on this forum.

As Red Merle says, iOS 12 on the iPhone is much worse than the gremlins in my FF. I think I must have had to switch it off and back on again umpteen times to get it to work with some of the apps and download emails!!

I blamed the car for the infotainment problems(sorry LR!!), but it was the phone causing the problems, especially since the 18C update with CarPlay.

Hasten to add, all is fine now! All LR cars from 1984

Mine goes in Tuesday for the 18C update although the dealer is not admitting that this exists. They are adamant that you cannot use Apple Carplay on a MY17 car even after this update "despite what you read on the internet sir"!

Anyone care to elaborate whether I can or can't?

Sorry but I cant blame the IPhone with latest IOS for all bugs that is comming up in my FFRRMY18 many of them is also the same bugs as in my MY17. Same phone and software works like a charm in my wifes Mini Clubman with Apple CarPlay the Mini system is solid as a rock.
I belive that I maybe have found the fault in my car regarding the fault of random reboot and that the system freeze it seems to be Connected to the engine Autostop function it looks like the Infotainment either get power spikes or power drops sometimes after a very short autostop. I have now begin to start each ride by disable the autostop function and since then no more of this rebooting or freezing so far but let’s see.

Just had the update on my MY17.
Apple Car Play and an Android thing now definitely displayed on the touch screen.
Not yet had a play with them so cant comment any further at the moment Neutral

Forever,

Is the orange " warning notification" button on Waze in the bottom corner really nearest to you on the screen? On my Apple Carplay it is down in the far corner? All LR cars from 1984
