Yeah saw that.
Perhaps no seat beats?
I mean these things have how many airbags?

Says speeds around double the 35 limit.
I didn't think it would be possible to die in any modern car at 70
- with all the airbags and if you've got your seatbelt on.
. Cheers, Greg

For it to be that destroyed I'd think they'd be looking at murder suicide as well as drunk and stupid

Unfortunately, nothing is designed with these impact speeds in mind, it’s usually assumed that the impact speed had been scrubbed down to around 40 mph. But if you’re going to flip your car, roof first, into an immovable concrete obstacle, at a reasonable speed, then the results must be sadly inevitable.

Saw this. All road vehicles are just sheet metal coffins. The bigger coffin wins.

Euro NCAP tests are 40 mph and generally assume a fairly straight crash into something where the crumple zones can do their thing.

As stated above, if you take the impact somewhere else, then the results are somewhat worse - and the roof in particular has to be the soft spot.....

yeah I suppose you're right about the roof being a soft spot, 2.8 tonnes will provide that catalyst right?
. Cheers, Greg

That was never going to be survivable Shocked

Looks like it flipped over the concrete barrier as the wreckage ended up in the car park, not on the road.

From this video, the roof looks pretty tough as well. The guy just walked away having launched off a motorway flyover.

Wow! But is it a 405 or 322?
Can't quite tell...

Definitely an Evoque. I’ve seen the long version of the film that shows the scene of the undamaged car leaving the flyover (above).

Also that flyover drop, the car didn’t actually drop on its roof but onto it’s side and then bounced “over” its roof onto the other side, one very lucky chap! David

Please let me know if my comments upset you, I may wish to upset you again.
