Here's an oddball.

Just filled up at Tesco (10p off per litre when you spend £60 in store) and when I started the engine the front wipers went to straight up position and parked. Nothing I did with the stalk would make the wipers do anything. Rear wiper was running as normal.

I moved off the pump and to a parking space. It was Censored down. I found the power steering felt heavy on the short trip from pump to parking space. Sat in the parking space for 30 seconds and the wipers started again so I pulled off and the power steering was back to normal.

Everything fine for the 12 mile trip home. 1 stop and start cycle once I got home and everything normal.

Is this likely battery related gremlins or something more sinister? 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

Cant answer question, however when I taught part time at the college in St. Albans few years ago I was driving a rover 214 SEI and every time I parked in their staff car park my radio wouldn't work and the central locking always malfunctioned.
I had to use the key to manually lock / unlock it. That was the only place I had problems with it in all the years of ownership. All I could think was there was a high voltage cable near the surface radiating some sort of electrical radiation. I know they should be screened but maybe there was a fault.

Also, areas that use a smart barrier (bar lifts as you approach) have a circle of live wire (approx 20ft in dia near the surface.
The idea is, the windings generate a weak magnetic field that as the car body enters the field it interrupts the field and a sensor triggers the barrier to lift.
Just a thought Question

We haven't had rain in months and none is forecast for at least another two. Big Cry I wish it would rain, much of the state is in drought. Ron B. VK2OTC
