Hi guys taking my L332 over to Holland later this week via Eurotunnel
Should i go over 6ft or under ?
Got 275 40 r22s on it and measuring its about 2mm under is it worth the risk and getting stuck never been on it before .
Thanks Ryan.

I could well be wrong but.... over on disco3/4 forum the eurotunnel users would lock the disco into access mode and use the under 6ft as it was cheaper, don't know if it's still the same. Remember:- amateurs built the ark
Proffesionals built the titanic

Isn't the price the same whether high vehicle or not? I believe it is and, if you can get a booking for high to suit you, then I would book it. Save you worrying about it. Confused John

Price is the same, but availability is different - and if there are delays, you can be waiting way longer in overheight.

Both the L322 and L405 fit with suspension lowered - and probably at regular height too, but I always lower.

Overheight is easier and more spacious, but I always go regular these days

A few photos on this thread - L405 but will give a good idea

Make sure you follow the Flexi signs - right hand lane at the U.K. ticket barrier, left in France - and straight through passport control and to the dedicated lounge - no need to go anywhere near the main terminal Thumbs Up

6' is pretty conservative.

I took mine on the lower and upper decks with no issues. That's not to say I wasn't bricking it the entire time queuing up!

I had mine in access height and locked it there, but my access height is around the same as a standard car's standard height since I have calibrated mine a bit higher for off road and winter use. I also had a bike rack on, apparently you are meant to put your hazards on when you have a bike rack (tower mounted) so they load you in the lower deck, but in France they didn't tell me and I was loaded into upper deck. This is because the departure angle causes bike carriers to foul. Not so on the FF.Smile

Hope this helps

Yep, Remember coming up to the height restrictions & thinking oh Censored, but went straight through. Got loaded with some coaches & camper vans.

I was surprised how quick it was from previous times.

I’ve always used the overheight carriage and never been delayed leaving apart from the one time I took a normal car on the upper deck of the low or normal carriage. Had to wait an age to be let down. I find that towing a caravan sort of makes my choice for me but I find the whole experience much nicer. Cost is something I take care of with Tesco vouchers which the wife’s business gets for buying food for her after school clubs. I use the tunnel for two or three return trips from Easter to October and love the simplicity over the ferry. Long may it continue. Thumbs Up

We went last year and took the RRS1. It went under the dangly height thing but at the time of loading they wanted to put me upstairs Shocked , I was thinking of the crest at the top of the ramp so asked if I could go downstairs = no problem. Driving into the train it felt very close to the ceiling and I could touch the ceiling with my hand whilst driving along. The thing for me was there was very little room either side of the wheels and I was conscious of scratching the alloys, but I didn't. This was our first time and doing it again wouldn't be a problem.

Steve.

With flexiplus you get to go first on the next train, you paid for the privalage!!!! so on arrival maybe you can change to over 6 foot cabins

Or. I would book again /change for over 6 feet and change to either ONLY if you have to on arrival. Don’t forget flexi go first, ie before us mere mortals with a reserved booking time!!!!
