Scotland 2014 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Santorini Black

Seems we're all spelling it wrong. It is pootling and is defined:

'To wander or ramble in a leisurely, indirect, or aimless manner, such as by walking or driving; to potter.'

I don't consider the 3.0 underpowered in any way (we don't tow). The reason I pootle must be to avoid flies and bugs getting caked on the front end and messing up my paintwork Wink

Sounds like a few of you with the 4.4 are of the thrash it within an inch of its life mindset Shocked

So maybe pootling is not for you Rolling with laughter

Having owned both the 2.7 D3 and the 3.0 D4 I can vouch for the lag on the single turbo engine. I had the D3 remapped to reduce the “downtime” until something moved. My recent step up to the 4.4SDV8 AB is very different in power delivery. It really does feel like you’ve strapped the flying Scotsman to the back of it when you give it some beans. I use it for towing my two and a half ton caravan (which I’m doing as we speak, well not as I type) and the extra power is very noticeable. When solo and driven like a chauffeur to keep the wife happy it’s returning between 32-35mpg. I’m very happy with my V8. Thumbs Up

Thinking of changing my last of the line D4 Landmark for a FF and am reading through the forum with interest. Love the L322, but seriously tempted by the L405. I have a TDV8 RRS and loved that, so I think I am going to have to go for the V8 - now only have to decide between petrol and diesel.

Depends on the year. You have to be careful!! 2013 to 2015 the VED is very different between TDV6 and SDV6, but EU6 ones are almost the same at about £300, then they all shoot up to £450 from 2017.

My VED was £305 this year which was £215 cheaper than my 12 plate D4.

Get the 4.4 unless your doing horrendous mileage is it really going to affect you, and what’s an extra £20 a month on the direct debit?

I test drove several 3.0 before I found a 4.4 at the spec I wanted and after that I totally discounted the 3.0, each to there own but as many people have said the 4.4 is an impressive engine.
