Is this for your european trip Stan ?

We really need to find a solution to updating the maps on the RR satnav.

How is it clipped on ?
I need a decent mount to hold my phone, and not found anything that works at present (Samsung note Cool Too many toys, not enough time

john, yes it's for the trip to venice and back [hopefully] ..

the nav unit is clipped onto a back frame mount and that frame is cable tied to the vent...

as you know you cant update the FF nav to newer than 2014 mapping so this unit with 2018 mapping is an alternative.. ... - .- -.

in fact, you can update, the kit is called "2019RRL405". It is a bit pricey but you'll have the latest maps.

I use Waze on my phone in my 405(well in all cars really), I think we only used the sat nav once, just because there was no signal on the phone... l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

mine is 10.5", Samsung that is, that I use most of the time for nav and playing music via AUX. but on occasion I use this one to. I'am 6'4" so it is not obstructing my view. it is rather nice to have maps right in one's line of sight.

If you go with this one- file/send the edges all around.

It is nice to have the maps on clear view but......having the SatNav mounted on the IP binnacle above the wheel is illegal, and the fuzz were told this year to tighten up on these offences.
The official line is if you want to mount it within the windscreen area the bottom right by the A pillar is the only acceptable position.
Too many numpties mount them just stuck anywhere on the screen area obstructing their road view which makes it a pain for sensibly mounted units.

This only applies in the UK, other countries may be fine with it of course. David

Please let me know if my comments upset you, I may wish to upset you again.
