Changing wheels QUICKLY

On my L405 I have a set of 22”, I also have a set of All Terrain 285’s on another set of 20” wheels for the shooting season and of road work.

Changing wheels over was a tiny bit of a bind. However, equipped with a 3 ton trolley jack and an impact wrench I can swap over all 4 wheels in under 10 minutes - thanks to my new tool.

Seriously this is an absolute weapon and probably the best £450 I have spent ! It also absolutely eats the track bolts on a 15ton Case 360.

For those of us who need to swap wheels over with ease have a look at this:-

I have the previous “biggest” 1/2” impact gun they done, at 1491Nm. We no longer have air tools in the workshop, air is only used for inflating tyres now...

The only thing I have found it won’t undo is a 3.0 crank pulley bolt

Onto my 2nd one now, the first one loosing a fair chunk of torque, is away for a refurb at £85 Thumbs Up

Just looking for an excuse to upgrade to the latest one now, at just shy of 1900Nm Mr. Green

In addition, I also have the impact bit driver, which despite its size, will still undo wheel nuts Thumbs Up

My local tyre guy recons it’s the impact gun that knackers the RR wheel nuts, so always does mine by hand.

When I do my own I start/finish them by hand with a torque wrench and use my cordless drill for the bulk of the thread

(off topic but I just bought an impact bit driver as Mikey mentioned - they are awesome for screws - I did a load of floorboards and it’s sooo much faster than a cordless drill - I hadn’t realised the difference between those and a wrench before - should have bought one years ago Embarassed )

wizzy guns are ok for undoing wheel nuts but you should be careful doing nuts up.....remember to use a low torque setting and to finish of with a torque wrench..

Mine gets used for timing belts, stripping dashboards, stripping engines etc. It’s effortless. And if you opt for the M18 range, all batteries are interchangeable Thumbs Up

I have the Milwakee radio which as well as being indestructible it also charges the batteries. The jacket is also the business in the winter and uses the 1/4 inch gun battery to power the heated jacket Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

They seem to have so many models - which one would make my life easier for suspension bolts?

Cheers Thumbs Up

I’d get the same one I did the High Torque 1/2”, they also do a 3/4” with a bit more Torque but that will easily snap M16 bolts if you are not very careful 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

The new model 1/2" has the same motor ( and subsequently) power of the 3/4" model. 2015 4.4 AB

Stan, the new models from Milwaukee have 4 settings, they link to your phone by Bluetooth and you can change the Torque Settings, speed and trigger sensitivity with the OneKey App for each of the 4 settings - it also lets you track the location of your power tools in case they get nicked, plus a load of other features.

They are absolutely brilliant as you can set a dedicated Torque up for several different uses or vehicle wheel nuts. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
