Dashcam interference

Hello folks.

I'm away to have front and rear dash cams fitted to my 2017 L405. Just wondering if there are any issues with positioning the front dash dashcam - I don't want it to interfere with, or obstruct, any sensors etc. (thinking auto wiper rain sensor, high beam assist sensor, auto lights sensor etc) - I'm assuming, perhaps wrongly, that some or all of these are located in or around the back of the rear view mirror?

Any help / advice / experience would be appreciated.

Ta.

Halfords fitted mine just behind the rear view mirror. No problems at all so far.... 718 GT4

if you are having it professionally fitted then they should know where to place the cams..

Thanks Don - did Halfords hardwire it in with all cables hidden etc, so that it can record whilst parked?

I have a Thinkware F770 front and rear which I've had removed from my Audi SQ7 (which I've just rejected but that's another story!), and want it installed into my FFRR. I assume you bought your dash cam from Halfords? I'm not sure they'd fit one that wasn't bought from them - do you mind asking how much they charged please?

Ta

I’ve had no issues with the front and I’ve moved mine around a bit to get the best picture whilst most out of the way.

Is the rear in independent unit or connected to the front ?

Thanks - the rear camera is linked into the front, it's all part of the same Thinkware package.

I’m sure I read somewhere that there are GPS cables in the roof lining - and you need to be careful of interference.....

Cheers Alistair, I have the installer from Chameleon Codewing coming tomorrow to do the installation. They are the official UK distributor of Thinkware apparently, and they fitted it last time. Will make sure he knows about the issues in the link you posted!
