Heated wheel

Ive been trying to get the heated wheel going on my 2003. Previous owner fitted a piano black wood n leather one with flappy paddles. It looks like I have power upto the ecu and bench testing the wheel it gets warm with direct current applied to the heater circuit . I am not getting any light on the button though. I changed out the ecu for another but stlll nothing. Does it have to be switched on in the CCF ? I have IID BT but couldnt find any listing for it???? No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue

If it has flappy paddles, then I am guessing it's a recent wheel (maybe post 2010) so could it be that it's not compatible with the ecu in your rangie? Current: RR L322 2010

Do the flappy paddles work? There is a reluctor ring behind the wheel that is used to feed the signals back from the steering wheel buttons. There is not a ring free for the paddles to use so a previous owner may have used the feed from the heated wheel ring instead - hence heated wheel not working. Could be wrong - just a thought.... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I.ve good experience of the flaps having retro fitted them to my x5. They are not connected at all. All other switches work ok. No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue

I fitted a new soft napa leather wheel to my 2003 TD6 and used the new control unit that was with the wheel - the one that's in the wheel if that's it...had no issues. Wouldn't have thought it had to be configured as your car would have had it fitted as standard.....

18 months later and I’m still at it. Plumbed in a new feed to the back of the clock spring and we have heat ! Trouble is it’s permanently on. I don’t have a light on the button either. I’ve tried another ecu and another switch and still the same. No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue
