Android head unit advice.

Hi guys, hoping someone can help me regarding these android head units.. I've read through all the threads on here about them and in all honesty, my head is fried.

So basically I'm hoping someone could supply me some links to a head unit and all the parts I'd need to fit to my car. I'm pretty handy with the spanners so fitting one wouldn't be an issue, but I'm just confused on what I actually need.

My car is a 2004 Range Rover Vogue TD6. It's got the factory screen fitted along with the DSP gubbins. The car had a 'moment' earlier this week and since then the stereo is playing up, so it's the kick up the backside I needed to get a more modern setup.

Look forward to your replies,
Matt.

Android Head Unit with dsp amp (BMW)

Hi, i did this on my 2004 TD6, put the old head in glovebox, original leads do reach, just, then you need the front to back lead, once that is in, easy enough job, buy a unit for the BMW X5 if range rover not specified, i went with a EONON unit, fits like factory, there is a newer model out now than i have, physically the same, just slightly higher specced, does the lot, multiple usb, phone, sat nav, works with the DSP and SUB.Can get front and rear cameras too, more importantly. all the audio controls on steering wheel work via the i-bus. had mine in a while now, no probs, regards, Bob...

United Kingdom

I've got one of the Erisin units www.erisin.com which I fitted two years ago, and bought it together with the front-to-to back extension lead. (My exact unit is now obsolete from their range)

Although I bought a DAB receiver from Erisin, I bought a roof mounted DAB/FM aerial from www.dabonwheels.co.uk

Finally, just to mention that if you install the I-Bus App www.ibus-app.de which runs on Android, then you can retain your DSP and control it from the new head unit without needing to retain the old head unit.

Fantastic replies, thank you...

Couple of questions..-

So all I need in reality is the head unit itself and the 'front-to-back' lead ??
No messing about with wiring, simply plug and play..?
Also, do I have to retain my original unit in the glove box?

Thanks again guys.

Hi Bobsin,

I see that you figured out how to change the boot logo. Can you maybe help me with this? I already rooted my head unit. What app did you use? Did you change both boot logo’s? Of only the second? Thanks! 2002 L322 V8
