JLR Australia ordered to pay back $283K to buyer of L405

A lemon Autobiography.

Couple puts lemon squeeze on car dealer - bay 93.9 Geelong

The buyers are after legal fees and costs, too. It could go as high as A$400,000 in total.

If you want to search YouTube, John Cadogen has also posted a video about this. Language warning:

Saw the video on YouTube last night. Got bored and annoyed with the presenter after about 2 minutes - the guy is a d**k using the story to promote his web activities.

Not good publicity for JLR though....

LR have a poor reputation in Australia (with the public and motoring journalists) and most motoring journos, even when praising an LR for driveability, etc, will always bring up the spectre of poor reliability based on past performance and issues dating back to the Sixties/Seventies. Nothing has changed.

Add to that, LR's severe lack of a dealer network in Oz outside the seven state capital cities is is real negative for many people.

In this case, I believe it was an issue with poor dealer operation. I can believe that based on my own experience. When I complained to LR Customer Care , their response was "we don't interfere in how a dealer runs his business" - even thought the dealer's mechanics lack of doing something the right way cost me a lot of money and aggravation.

Re John Cadogan, he's an automotive engineer/journalist and, yes, he pushes his business but if you watch a few more of his videos, you'll find he's usually right (always?). He has strong opinions about the industry. He's a regular on TV current affairs programmes. Ron B. VK2OTC
