Lots of threads on this problem and most likely the dreaded steering lock fault which is the clicking you would normally hear. No click sound the car will remain immobilised. Firstly check your battery voltage to make sure it’s not low – doesn’t have to be too low to upset the electronics. If alls well volts wise then it could be the early signs of the steering column dying. There are some short term fixes on You Tube but these only tend to delay the inevitable if they work at all; otherwise your looking at a column replacement. I believe there is someone here in the UK and also in Germany that can repair the column - have a search through the threads. Sorry can't give more happy tidings or help |

Ours (2007) was a little iffy when we bought it back in March - sometimes there would be a delay before it clicked after inserting the key and sometimes I had to remove and re-insert the key.
