Just failed MOT for white rear position lights?

So first MOT under the new rules and two majors
Nearside Rear Position lamp showing white light to the rear (4.2.3 (a) (ii))
Offside Rear Position lamp showing white light to the rear (4.2.3 (a) (ii))

Bit baffled as there aren’t any white bulbs in the back apart from the reverse ones.
Not had chance to speak to the tester yet or have a look at the car to contest it, but not even sure the car has rear position lights. (Quick edit:- appears rear position lights are what the rest of us call the rear or tail lights )

Vehicle has Powerful uK supercharged rear lights fitted but they weren’t a problem last year.

Anyone else had this issue?

United Kingdom

all SC up to 2010 had the white/clear lens with a clear bulb that when switched on would be orange/amber ..

the lights are item 3 in this pic,

the silver topped bulb should be like his,

i cant imagine why the tester had failed them

It is set 3 that i have fitted.

Can’t remember if it was red covered bulbs i fitted but last time i looked they were illuminating red as the wife drove away.

Will speak to the tester in the morning and see what is going on exactly.

The red bulbs are (forgive me being blunt sir) cheap and nasty... The coating peels off after a time... The irradium coated bulbs (blueish silver in colour) last loads longer... Thumbs Up

Have a look tomorrow, it only takes one chip out of the coating to deem them a failure sir... Rolling Eyes
