The IID tool threw up the following code last night:

0x4B Wiper speed relay: open circuit

As a result I have been hunting through the various manuals and relay boxes for the 'Wiper Speed Relay' and have found plenty of references to the Wiper Replay. Is this the same thing?

My wipers work perfectly except that when I select the high speed option on the steering column switch, the speed does not change from the normal setting.

I had the very same issue last week..does your rain sensor work? If not try unplugging it..my wiper function returned to normal after doing so..mines was simply a knackered fuse in the end...

There should be 2 wiper relays. These relays tend to look different to others and they have 5 pins

Obviously one needs replacing as the coil is open circuit.

I finally got round to replacing the front wiper relay (the one behind the battery) and still get the same error code. Each time I clear the code it reappears immediately.

I have also checked the rain sensor and replaced the fuse. This made no difference. In fact I got the same error code with or without the fuse which suggests a problem perhaps with the module.
