I have a puzzling problem with my front parking sensors on my 2003 RR L322 Vogue. The rear sensors work fine (either by engaging reverse or pressing the PDC dashboard switch.) They also automatically switch off once I’m driving. However, the front 4 sensors don't work at all. Any suggestions please? I’m wondering - could it be the front sounder?

The front and rear are linked so if just one sensor fails the whole system shuts down... Do you have a way of checking through diagnostics sir? As it will show you whats working and whats not through live data...

The system shuts down if ones faulty from
Memory. Best bets getting it on diagnostics and you can watch each sensor via live data. Saves so much messing around and guess work.. an iid tools perfect for this

Hi guys and thanks for the prompt response. No - I don't have any diagnostic testing kit available. What's puzzling me however, is that the rear sensors work perfectly and the front, not at all.

Im far from an expert and excuse me if this is an obvious question, but did you turn on the front parking sensors ?? The rears come in if you select reverse but the fronts dont work unless activated. My mercs front ones werw on permanently as were the rears so when i got my first L322 i thought the fronts didnt work until i realised they have to be manually turned on. 2015 4.4 AB

Yes - I've tried switching the front sensors on manually but they still didn't work.

just going on my own experience sir. if the front and back are linked as others have stated then its strange the backs work. 2015 4.4 AB

If it's a sensor that's failed you can pinpoint which one by turning them on and then putting your ear up aginst each one in turn. You should be able to hear them clicking if working. Check the wiring close to the sensors it can cause a sensor to not work.
