No touch Wheel Cleaner

Finally found a product that does what it says.

I hate brake dust caked onto my wheels but also hate scrubbing them and getting flicked with black bits.

Finally found 'Wolf Chemicals Brake buster' - its a ph neutral (but smelly) spray on gloop that you leave to dry on the wheels - the clear liquid turns to a thick ribeena colour and when you wash it off with a pressure washer the result is fantastic.

Cost a bit and you do use a fair amount for two sets of wheels but never had anything that worked as well as this with zero scrubbing.

Sounds very like the Autobrite Britegel I use. Satisfying isn't it? Thumbs Up

Edit: if it goes on clear, smells eggy and turns purple it's more like IronCut which is also awesome.

as a suggestion?

i treat my wheels with Poorboys wheel sealant (wax)

allowing three coats with 24 hours between coats i've found all brake dust washes off with snow foam

Ah Snow foam - my next experiment - just ordered a foam lance and some MagiFoam - supposed to be no touch wash and better than most snow foams.

I'm not a detailing / wash your car daily person but am fascinated how far you can go without having to actually touch the car to clean it......ok so I'm lazy Very Happy "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Ha, I have that one mastered......................... I pay somebody else to wash mine - they use snow foam to start with, hot wash and then cold rinse off all while I sit inside and watch the TV. £5 no matter how dirty the car is. It's still £5 even if I take the 90 to them covered in mud, although I usually have to go to the end of the queue until they have either enough guys free to attack it or they are short of customers and have time to spare and for that £5 I even get the mud underneath blasted out. Well worth being lazy for and it keeps the neighbours happy as I don't leave offroad sand/mud/flora on the street in front of the house or on my drive! I also wouldn't like to be the next car into the wash bay after my 90 has been through because I don't think they are very careful about cleaning their washing brushes after they've finished my wagon Whistle 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

been using magifoam for a couple of weeks now, even with a good coat of wax already on the car its not touch free.
my car had one motorway journeys worth of road grime only, and the snow foam didnt remove all of the dirt (even with a 15 minute dwell time).
certainly helps, but not touch free Sad Gerry

But I forgot to mention the real point of snow foam; it's good fun.
Who wouldn't enjoy coating a bloody great 4x4 in thick foam Thumbs Up Gerry

with regards to snow foam the best i've used is off ebay from racquel10

25l snow foam - Auto Rae-Chem - £35.95 plus 6.95 carriage

i've tried the citrus version and found it not as good

one tip - i add about 1/2" of megs Gold shampoo to the foam lance with the snow foam

also found it best to apply to a 'dry' car rather than doing a pre foam rinse - and allow a max of 5 minutes dwell time

a pressure washer that takes warm water is a massive help

I love using snow foam, the first time I used mine, 3 neighbours that were washing their cars came over to have a go of it. I've been using the snow foam from elite car care, but might try some bilt hamber stuff next as that seems to get good reviews.

On the subject of using warm water, I set the pressure washer up using the hot tap in the garage, spent 3 hours cleaning my car and the 2 vans, my dad wasn't best pleased when he came in to find the combi boiler had been running non stop Laughing

Still though, I find it gets the majority of dirt off, I always hand wash it afterwards unless it's the middle of summer when the car just gets dusty rather than dirty.

Because everyone love pictures of cars covered in foam...

good photo's

you got the consistency just right - should be like thick shaving foam

as do you, i still use two bucket wash afterwards

then quick pressure wash followed by rinse using filtered water which reduces water marks

and then megs quick detailer to finish

Luckily, there's new seals all round, plus I made sure the doors are a nice snug fit otherwise it would have soggy carpets! 2006 Mercedes CLS
